Area Level

• Newsletter Chairperson
  • Description
    • (a) Term of office is one (1) year.
    • (b) To compile information from this Area and Region concerning upcoming events (dances,
    • workshops, conventions, and other functions) for inclusion in the monthly newsletter.
    • (c) To maintain a Working Reserve in an amount established by the SSASC for the
    • publication of the newsletter.
    • (d) May make or second any motions or nominations but carries no vote.
    • (e) To attend Policy and Administration Subcommittee meetings (voting member).
    • (f) The Newsletter Subcommittee shall be responsible for the content of the Newsletter
  • Requirements
    • (a) To have previous Area service experience and at least one (1) year clean time.
    • (b) To have a working knowledge of the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, and 12 Concepts of Narcotics Anonymous.
• Convention Service Representative Alternate (CSRA)
  • Description
    • (a) Term of office is one (1) year (April 1–March 31) to coincide with ISNAC.
    • (b) To attend ISNAC BOD meetings (in the absence of or along with the CSR, giving a report
    • for this Area).
    • (c) Communication link between the Area and the BOD regarding all events relating to
    • ISNAC.
    • (d) To submit to the Area a written report from the ISNAC BOD meeting in absence or with
    • the CSR.
    • (e) To maintain a Working Reserve (Appendix A) and to submit receipts for reimbursements
    • subject to review and conditional upon attendance at the BOD meeting. Covered
    • Expenses are:
      • i) Travel
      • ii) Lodging
      • iii) Meals
    • (f) May make or second any motions or nominations but carries no vote.
    • (g) To attend Policy and Administration Subcommittee meetings (voting member).
  • Requirements
    • To have previous Area service experience and at least one (1) year of clean time.
    • To have a working knowledge of the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, and 12 Concepts of Narcotics Anonymous.
• Regional Committee Member Alternate (RCMA)
  • Description
    • (a) Term of office is one (1) year.
    • (b) Substitutes for RCM at Regional Service Conference if RCM is unable to attend.
    • (c) To attend RSC meetings with the RCM.
    • (d) To follow all Policy guidelines of SSASC when substituting for RCM.
    • (e) To maintain a Working Reserve (Appendix A) and to submit receipts for reimbursements
    • subject to review conditional upon attending IRSC. Covered Expenses are:
      • i) Travel
      • ii) Lodging
      • iii) Meals
    • (f) May make or second any motion or nomination but carries no vote.
    • (g) To attend Policy and Administration Subcommittee meetings (voting member).
    • (h) To attend the multi-region CAR/CAT workshop with the RCM.
  • Requirements
    • (a) To have previous Area service experience and at least one (1) year clean time.
    • (b) To have a working knowledge of the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, and 12 Concepts of Narcotics Anonymous.
